South Central Wisconsin Chapter

From the President

Hello! My name is David Rutter and I’m the South Central Wisconsin EAPA Chapter President. At this site you will find: our mission statement, history, information about our monthly meetings and topics, directions to our meetings, membership information about our committees and officers. Let me tell you about our Chapter.

Mission Statement

“To enhance the professional development of our members, enhance the recognition and credibility of the profession and educate the community. To accomplish this mission, we will: share resources and training; network; increase our knowledge of EAP issues and approaches; provide an opportunity for joint problem solving; advocate for services on behalf of clients and sponsor conferences and seminars.”

History and Background

We became an EAPA Chapter in 1994. We are a well-established, cohesive group of professionals that work in the EAP field. We also have many students and other interested people that are trying to get into the EAP field that have joined our group as a way to network and learn more about EAP. Our chapter received international recognition at the 1999 EAPA Conference in Orlando Florida.

Our Meetings

We usually meet the first Friday of the month (except August). Please see our program calendar for the exact dates and topics of our meetings. The structure is:

  • 8:30-9:00 Networking

  • 9:00-9:50 Business Meeting

  • 10:00-12:00 Training Program (Professional Development Hours)

  • February, April and October feature case consultation at 8:45 in lieu of a business meeting.

Membership Benefits

Offering two-hours of professional development each month is one example of how our chapter enhances member’s knowledge. In addition, our chapter has voluntarily paid for Pre-Approval of the training to further ease the process for new and existing members. For information about joining the South Central Wisconsin chapter of EAPA, please contact Tresa Martinez at 608-266-6561, or

We meet at New Start-West, which is located at 1015 Gammon Lane, Madison, Wisconsin. Take the beltline (12/18) west, towards Middleton and exit on Gammon Road. From there head south and Gammon Lane is the street after Schroeder Road, turn left.

Our Committees

In addition to our educational programs each month our Chapter has opportunities for involvement in a variety of committees:

  • Executive Officers Committee
